Picking up the Peaces Podcast

Aamina Muhsin

Thought leadership starts with the right question

Aamina Muhsin was inspired to start a podcast to connect with professionals in the field of rehabilitation and peace building. Her goal is to ask the right questions from the right people to improve her own knowledge and share it with the world.

Creative Challenge

Aamina started the podcast on her own, but needed to add some more interesting intros, title cards, lower thirds and also trim down extremely long conversations and sometimes winding into more coherent and easier to digest.

Outcome

The outcome we provided was that she now has an on-brand intro, reusable title card, and lower third for her episodes, plus Lunar Yeti helped edit the long format and cut out all the incoherent bits and re-arranged sections for increased clarity plus a thumbnail for Youtube.

The Process

With Aamina’s podcast, titled ‘Picking up the Peaces’ the goal was not to transform the video into a documentary, but to give Aamina more interesting graphics to help quickly explain the context of the video, the guest etc.

We also needed a way to trim down a huge amount of footage and make it more coherent.

By using color coding in Da-vinci we were able to sort out the entire podcast into specific sections like so:

Color coded clips in the master timeline

We also divided each section of the podcast into smaller timeline sections to enable quick review of those sections when she will want to start exporting smaller snippets of the episode to keep the interest in the podcast going:

Each section as its own timeline

Of course we also need to create some interesting intros and title cards so we utilized Fusion to create this right within Da-vinci Resolve.

Results

The main goal to Aamina was to inprove the professionalism of her podcast and alleviate the tedium of editing it from her side and we helped her do that to her fullest satisfaction.
